5. RCMC REGISTRATION
RCMC Registration
RCMC stands for Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate. It is issued by Export Promotion Councils (EPCs), Commodity Boards, or Authorities recognized by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
It certifies that your business is a registered exporter of a particular product category or sector and is recognized by the concerned council/board.
✔️As per the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) of India, exporters must register with the relevant Export Promotion Council (EPC) to avail certain benefits and authorizations.
✅ RCMC is mandatory if you want to:
• Avail benefits under FTP schemes
• Apply for Advance Authorization, EPCG, or Duty Drawback
• Claim incentives like RoDTEP, RoSCTL, MEIS (now phased out), etc.
👉 RCMC is issued by sector-specific EPCs or Boards under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. You must apply to the relevant council/board based on the main line of export product.
1. Agricultural & Processed Food Products
• Issuing Authority: APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority)
• Products Covered: Fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals, organic products, juices, meat & poultry, dairy, etc.
2. Marine Products
• Issuing Authority: MPEDA (Marine Products Export Development Authority)
• Products Covered: Fish, shrimp, prawns, shellfish, frozen seafood, marine byproducts.
3. Handicrafts & Handlooms
• Issuing Authority: EPCH (Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts)
• Products Covered: Artifacts, woodcrafts, metal crafts, gift items, textile-based handicrafts.
4. Engineering Goods
• Issuing Authority: EEPC India (Engineering Export Promotion Council)
• Products Covered: Industrial machinery, auto components, iron & steel products, hardware, tools.
5. Pharmaceuticals & Drugs
• Issuing Authority: PHARMEXCIL (Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India)
• Products Covered: APIs, formulations, ayurvedic medicines, biotech products, diagnostics.
6. Chemicals & Allied Products
• Issuing Authority: CHEMEXCIL (Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council)
• Products Covered: Dyes, pigments, essential oils, cosmetics, soaps, agrochemicals.
7. Textiles & Apparel
• Issuing Authority: AEPC (Apparel Export Promotion Council)
• Products Covered: Readymade garments, apparel accessories, fashion wear.
8. Leather Products
• Issuing Authority: CLE (Council for Leather Exports)
• Products Covered: Leather goods, footwear, saddlery, leather garments.
9. Gems & Jewellery
• Issuing Authority: GJEPC (Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council)
• Products Covered: Diamonds, gold jewelry, silverware, colored gemstones, imitation jewelry.
10. Plastics and Plastic Products
• Issuing Authority: PLEXCONCIL (The Plastics Export Promotion Council)
• Products Covered: Plastic sheets, molded articles, packaging, pipes, raw materials (polymers).
11. Carpets and Floor Coverings
• Issuing Authority: CEPC (Carpet Export Promotion Council)
• Products Covered: Handmade carpets, woolen durries, silk rugs, floor textiles.
12. Spices
• Issuing Authority: Spices Board of India
• Products Covered: Turmeric, black pepper, cardamom, chili, coriander, blended spices.
13. Tea
• Issuing Authority: Tea Board of India
• Products Covered: All types of tea – black, green, organic, CTC, orthodox.
14. Coffee
• Issuing Authority: Coffee Board of India
• Products Covered: Raw coffee, roasted coffee, instant coffee.
15. Cashew
• Issuing Authority: Cashew Export Promotion Council (CEPCI)
• Products Covered: Cashew kernels, broken cashew, cashew nut shell oil.
16. Tobacco
• Issuing Authority: Tobacco Board of India
• Products Covered: Raw tobacco, chewing tobacco, cigars, cigarettes.
17. Coir & Coir Products
• Issuing Authority: Coir Board
• Products Covered: Coir mats, ropes, coir pith, brushes, fiber.
18. Services Export
• Issuing Authority: SEPC (Services Export Promotion Council)
• Services Covered: IT services, legal, finance, education, healthcare, BPO, tourism, consulting.
19. Multi-product Exporters (General)
• Issuing Authority: FIEO (Federation of Indian Export Organizations)
• For exporters dealing in multiple product categories or those not covered by any specific EPC.
